Illinois 66.

Start or End in Illinois.

Although the diagonal cut across Illinois connects the cities of Chicago and St. Louis, most of Route 66 is a rural ride. Most of its 436 miles pass through small towns and farmland with wide open vistas. Many of those towns play up their Route 66 connection and have at least one iconic landmark.
