You gotta go through the Mohave Desert - many still chose to travel it at night for the cooler temps and brilliant Milky Way. Grab a bite at the Bagdad Cafe. Sleep in another Wigwam. The final stretch rewards you with the unofficial end at the Santa Monica Pier.
