Eye of the World - Folk Art Carvings in a Steakhouse!

Texas is hot hot hot, but sure, let's stop at a steak house for lunch.  The Lone Star Steak House contains something quite remarkable along one of its walls in the back room. Wow!!!  Using cigar boxes and wood scraps, Greek immigrant John Gavrelos started carving while employed at a candy factory.  Over 25 years, Gavrelos carved replicas of great buildings from around the world and Biblical scenes, displaying them in this unconventional setting at the family business.

Built: 1923-1948
