Heading home...the longest bridge in the western hemisphere & miniature golf diner

Did you know that the Mackinac Bridge is the longest bridge  (with a bunch of asterisks) in the western hemisphere?  Almost 5 miles long, and the dividing point between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron... and the point in which I bid the Rare Visions guys a fond adieu.  (Their Travel-o-Pedia book is poised for press and there are a lot of last minute "tweaks" that I must attend to.)

We hit a souvenir store yesterday and snatched up the $19.99 matching sweatshirts (normally something that I eschew, but it makes for a tv moment & it really is pretty cold and windy.)

Randy managed to spill on his shirt before it's first wearing. (a common theme...)

My return trip has been windy but sunny, making for prime photo ops at Rosie's Diner in Rockford, Michigan. (thanks Doug and crew at Roadside America for all of the great travel tips!!!  Seriously - it is THE roadtrip planning website!)

Not only is Rosie's an authentic 1946 diner from New Jersey (and home of the classic Rosie the Waitress commercials for Bounty paper towel) it has a great diner food-themed miniature golf course out back!

So, the next posting will be from home base, hopefully having avoiding all of the predicted thunderstorms that might await.  Happy art trails!
