(car trips...a lifestyle choice)

Bags are already packed, car is ready, new camera lens is on (woohoo)...and I am ready to roll on out of town bright and early!  (to those wanna-be robbers - there will be someone at home, with the dogs.) Believe it or not, it is supposed to be snowing when I leave this town and head off through west Texas to El Paso, Las Vegas, New Mexico, Albuquerque...then back home. An anticipated 3,000+ miles...whew!

Tomorrow I'll travel along parts of old Route 66, ending up in Amarillo, and hope to catch a sunset over some cadillacs....(although forecasts call for storms...which could make for a great sky/backdrop)...or maybe a sunrise...or maybe just cars stuck in the dirt...

Then catching up with the guys from Rare Visions on Saturday in the now infamous town of San Angelo, where we will also be meeting up with Orange Show tour master, and man-about-town, Narrow Larry Harris.  Jill Nokes book "Yard Art and Handmade Places: Extraordinary Expressions of Home" has proven to be a great pre-trip resource, full of previously-not-known-to-me sites and artists.

happy trails!
